Fall Reveal

Fall is the start of my favorite time of the year! Pumpkin spice lattes, sweaters, and of course the decor! In my first inaugural posts for the blog, I knew I wanted to touch on fall decor. When I was younger I vividly remembered coming home from school and my mama having decorated for fall. It was always such an exciting time, so naturally, I took after her and started doing it myself.

Back then it was more Halloween-focused, but today I love decorating for all as a whole with lots of texture, deep warm tones, and plenty of pumpkins.

My absolute favorite part of my room transformation was my updated console. My dad and I built this 2 years ago when we were deep into the pandemic and I was desperate to decorate my room with little to no money. As he does, my dad showed me how to build this console for only $30!!. At the time I was in love with the coastal bleached wood look thanks to Restoration Hardware, so we opted for a light stain color. In the end, the stain failed to knock out all of the warm tones, resulting in the console looking like raw wood.

I’ve been campaigning to replace this console with an actual one for about a year now, but in a final attempt to appreciate the one I had, I decided it was time for a fresh coat of stain. In a single afternoon, I took this console from drab to fab! The stain is Minwax Early American and the color went on beautifully. Little prep and 2 coats of stain later I was left with a new console!

For styling I kept with my favorite Kirklands mirror, Halston lamp, and faux Hydrangea stems.
